Mighty Micky out of Mini mum

By JULIA ILES

THE cuteness factor of Micky the miniature cross Shetland foal is an enthusiastic 10.

He is barely a week old and only about four hands high with a soft fuzzy mane and light coloured fur.

Mickey's owner, Peter Hasler, said a lot of people remarked that his colour was reminiscent of a donkey.

"His colour will darken as he matures but he will probably only grow to about 8.5 hands, Mickey is the smallest we've had," he said.

The foal at the moment won't stray far from his mother Mini, a Shetland Pony, while his father was a miniature horse.

Peter and his wife Yvonnewho has worked with horses all her life, breed miniature horses as a hobby.

Mickey and Mini will remain on the Hasler's property as pets.
