Morgan makes the most of her talents and time

By SALLY GORDON

IF you take a peek into the life of 13-year-old Morgan Holt, of South Grafton High, you'll find that some teenagers thrive on a hectic schedule.

Morgan has dance lessons five days a week, is a member of the Australian Ballet Company's Interstate Junior Program and is a regular competitor at regional eisteddfods.

A few weeks ago the spritely teen clinched first prize in the jazz, classical ballet and tap championships in the 14-years and under categories at the highly competitive Coffs Harbour and District Eisteddfod.

Morgan's fancy footwork earnt the rising star an overall excellence award at the Coffs Harbour Eisteddfod, the second such award this year.

In April, Morgan also took home the overall excellence award from the Grafton Eisteddfod.

Mum Lesley Holt says her daughter is one of those students who successfully manages to balance her passion for dance at the Nicole Shipman Academy of Dance and Kristen Challen School of Dance, as well as her school work.

"There are some teenagers who are very committed to what they do, they can find the time to follow what is of interest to them as well as their school work," Ms Holt said.

"I am extremely proud of her, she works so hard."
