Motor bikes stolen

By EMMA CORNFORD

THIEVES cut through fences, padlocks and chains to steal two children's dirt bikes from a South Grafton shed on New Year's Eve.

The bikes, which belong to 10-year-old Dean Schache and his eight-year-old sister Reanna, were locked in the family shed in the yard of their Ryan Street home.

Thieves struck while the family was away camping for four days.

The children's mum Kirsty said the thieves must have known about the bikes and had ignored everything else in the shed.

"They didn't steal from us ?- they stole from our kids," Mrs Schache said.

"When (we found out) Reanna just burst into tears and cried and cried. Deano just sat there with his mouth open.

"They couldn't believe it."

The family hopes someone has seen the bikes.

"I'm just hoping someone's seen the bikes turn up in a neighbour's yard or something and if they know they're stolen, maybe they can tell the police," Mrs Schache said.

She described one of the bikes as a yellow Suzuki DS-80 with a blue seat, the other is a blue Thumpster. Anyone with information can contact police on 6642 0222.
