THE Clarence Valley Council is likely to have a new general manager by the end of the week.

The council met yesterday to assess the four short-listed candidates, and one has been chosen.

But the Mayor, Ian Tiley, said council needed to wait until the successful candidate accepted the offer before releasing their name. He contacted the unsuccessful candidates yesterday afternoon.
