Night of fun and fashion

NOTE to self: remember to do up my fly next time I walk on stage at a fashion parade.
The fashion faux pas at the Jacaranda Fashion Parade were few and far between at the South Grafton Ex-Servicemen's Club on Tuesday night, but most of them seemed to involve me; either failing to notice my striped underwear being blatantly visible under a pair of shorts, the aforementioned fly incident, and my shorts nearly falling off, forcing me to hoick them up while walking down the stage.
Models who strutted Grafton retailers' latest gear down the catwalk included this year's Jacaranda Queen and junior candidates, the 2004 Queen's party, last year's matron Lyn Turton and 2005 matron Denise Slingsby.
Then you had the boys, including Clarence Valley bachelor of the year Mat Moran, Daily Examiner general manager Steve Portas ? who, once again, showed his affinity for skirt wearing ? Peter Gibbons and Greg Watkins.
The evening may have been all about the fashion, and there was plenty of that from casual gear to formal and wedding wear, but the audience was also kept entertained by performers from Nicole Shipman's Academy of Dance.
