YAMBA Junior Surf Life Saving Club (Nippers) will be holding their annual club championships this Sunday, March 11 at Main Beach, Yamba.
Junior club president Danielle Connolly said the nippers' club has a membership of around 160 and most of those would be competing at the titles.
She asked all competitors, parents, age managers, officials and members of the water safety group to report at the beach by 9am ready for a 9.30am start.
She appealed for more parents to help in an official capacity during the running of the carnival.
"The championships will be in all age divisions from under six through to Under-14s, for beach, swimming and board events" she said.
Sunday would also be a 'Welcome to new members' day and she invited all prospective members and their parents to join with the club in the barbecue to follow the morning's competition.
Those present will include the nippers' director of coaching Steve Herbert and water safety organiser for swimming and board events Peter Campbell.
The program of events is expected to finish around 11.30am, with the barbecue timed to follow immediately.
Overall age and club championships will be decided on point scores, taking into consideration placings from first to sixth in each event, plus one point for each participation.
The president said the nippers' club annual general meeting will be held in two weeks, on Sunday, March 25 at the clubhouse, when, as well as election of officers, presentation of trophies for the season will take place.
