Not feeling so second hand now

WHEN Second Hand Saturday hit the North Coast last weekend, garages were thrown open and price tags were attached to all manner of goods.

As part of the day, one lucky Valley resident won $50 to be spent at participating 'Reuse Directory' businesses.

With Mayor Ian Tiley and council Environmental Education Officer Belinda Stayt looking on, The Daily Examiner editor, Peter Ellem, drew the winning ticket from a recycle bin.

The winner was Helga Kunde of Dobie Street, who was drawn out of almost 100 entries in the competition.
