THE babies were beautiful and the parents were proud at the Jacaranda Beautiful Baby competition on Sunday morning at Market Square.

More than 80 bouncing bubs from eight days to three-years-old vied for places in their age groups as well as the overall Beautiful Baby title, which was won by Emily Paterson.

The three competition judges were afforded the difficult task of scoring the entrants according to their eyes, smile, personality and presentation.

In the boys aged up to six months category, Grayson Reimer came first with Zion Jousse second and Billy Johnson third.

Ashleigh Simmons-Tibbett won the corresponding girl's section, while Jessica Sear came second and Sarah Bowland third.

In the boys aged six to 12 months, Noah Reid took out the title, with Noah Evans coming second and Tyrell Golden third, while in the girls Ruby Shanley came first, Jada Robertson second and Logan Robb third.

First in the boys aged 12 to 24 months was awarded to Kambul Watts, second to Kane Pereira and third Michael Martin. In the girls Emily Paterson came first, Summer Hambly second and Deanna Dockrey third.

In the eldest group, two to three years, Joshua Paterson and Lucy Sear won the boy's and girl's sections, while James Enright and Melanie Martin came second and Harrison Fountain and Lily Johnson third.

But the weekend wasn't just about beautiful babies.
