GRAFTON Public School girls and boys hockey teams suffered narrow defeats by Ben Venue (Armidale) in the semi-finals of the Statewide PSSA knockout competition at Fisher Park, Grafton, yesterday.

The girls were beaten 1-0 after Ben Venue scored in the final five minutes.

The boys drew nil-all but lost on a penalty corner countback after 15-minutes extra time failed to break the deadlock. Both games were exciting with Olivia Morrison, Samara Rogan and Emma Thompson starring for the girls. Jordan Weller, Adrian Boyd and Jack Taylor were outstanding in the boys team.
