Oyster Cove lead prank

OYSTER Cove residents concerned about warnings of lead work being carried out on-site at the latest development bordering Orion Drive may have been taken in by a prank.

Last week several people reported seeing the sign, pictured below, attached to the fence surrounding the last remaining land to be developed into residential lots at the retirement village.

But yesterday a spokeswoman for Acegrange confirmed no lead was present on-site and could not explain how the sign came to be there.

It has since been taken down.

"We can certainly assure people there is nothing to be concerned about in respect to lead," she said.

"The signage is clearly a misunderstanding of some sort, we're not sure how it got there and as soon as it was drawn to our attention we took it down."
