Plenty of ticker

GRANT Preddy was always going to run and cycle his way around Australia.

But when his grandfather died last year from an undetected heart condition, it gave his odyssey added meaning.

So instead of running for himself, Preddy decided to run and raise money for Bathurst Base Hospital Cardiac Unit.

"I lost my grandad early last year through an unde- tected heart problem so I thought it would be good to try and get new machinery for the hospital," he said.

The 19-year-old Preddy left Bathurst in January and will finish his journey in his home city on July 22. He rested in Ashby on Thursday before running through Grafton yesterday.

Donations to his cause can be made at any ANZ Bank.
