Police seize drugs

POLICE seized a large amount of cannabis and cash during a raid on a premises at Halfway Creek on Monday.

The drug bust was part of a North Coast police operation in which search warrants were executed simultaneously about 7.30am at Woolgoolga, Mullaway and Halfway Creek.

Cannabis, with a potential street value of $400,000, was located during the raids.

Police yesterday would not disclose details of the raid at the Franklins Road address at Halfway Creek, but said Strike Force Bayan, from the Coffs/Clarence Target Action Group, was investigating commercial cannabis cultivation and supply around the North Coast.

As part of the investigation, a 35-year-old man was arrested at Mullaway and charged with drug possession.

Bail was refused and he was expected to appear in Coffs Harbour Court yesterday.

A 46-year-old woman also was arrested at Woolgoolga and charged with supplying cocaine.

She was bailed to appear in Coffs Harbour Local Court on June 19.

Police investigations are continuing.
