Rebels impress in first hit-out for 2005

THE South Grafton Rebels kicked off season 2005 with a 36-20 trial win against Orara Valley at Coramba on Saturday night. Played in four-quarters, several of the Rebels' new signings took part in the game which featured a combined first and reserves team. Former Lower Clarence captain Ray Mercy and reserve grade second rower Travis Daley starred for the Rebels. The Rebels Under-18s beat Orara 24-18 with lock Benny Woods prominent. The Rebels' next trial match will be against Lower Clarence later this month.
