Rebels receive boost for 2006

By TONY WHITE

JUST days after the appointment of Janita Cooper to head the South Grafton Rebels Rugby League Football Club, the red and white army's artillery has been further bolstered for 2006.

Cooper has signed up five major sponsors for next year headed by major contributor, JB Walsh Demolitions.

Other signed major sponsors include, Tursa Employment, Coffs Harbour Cordials, the Royal Hotel and Walkers Hotel.

"After the first AGM I didn't think many sponsors would be interested, but securing five major sponsors is great news for the club," Cooper said. "Everything is starting to come together."

In a further boost Robin Smith has accepted the position of club secretary and a treasurer is expected to be confirmed in the next week.

Former president Alan Rudduck, elected senior vice president at the second AGM last Sunday, has stood down and been replaced by Barbara Armstrong.

After the treasurer's confirmation, a full committee will be in place.

"The committee are all keen and working towards a successful 2006," Cooper added.

The Rebels will launch its official sign on day for 2006 at midday on January 14 at the Royal Hotel, South Grafton.
