Robsons combine for four winners at Grafton track

THE HUSBAND and wife team of Neville and Pauline Robson certainly had a good day at the Grafton greyhound meeting on Saturday with four winners, a second and a third on the 10-race program.

The meeting featured four heats of the Barry Jones Smash Repairs fifth grade over the 407 metre trip.

Heat one went to the Neville Robsontrained Best Over, who quickly led from box three and although tiring a little in the straight, still won by two and three quarter lengths from Alarm Ming, trained by Bob Cooke, in 23.72.

Stephen Keep, who also won a double, won heat two with Wild Mitch, who led all the way to defeat Alstonvilla, trained by Neville Robson, by a length in 23.65.

Heat three saw the Pauline Robsontrained Allegro Storm lead from the first turn to beat the unlucky Katie Allover, trained by Stephen Keep, by two and a quarter lengths in 23.83.

The fourth heat saw the quickest time of the four heats run by the John North-trained Chaptain Ice, who recorded 23.63 when he beat High Incident, trained by Brad Northfield, by two lengths. No doubt the box draw for this final will prove a deciding factor in the outcome of the race.

One of Pauline and Neville's other winners, Just Allegro, scored the biggest winning margin of the day when he won by 10 lengths in 23.21.

Just Allegro led all the way from box eight. They had won earlier in the day with Leemond, who led all the way from box five to score in the Clarence Valley Sheds maiden by two and a quarter lengths in 23.45.

Pauline and Neville's four winners all came from the same litter, being by Brett Lee out of Blue Bank, as was Alstonvilla, who ran second. The third place-getter Super Six is by Brett Lee out of Allegro Joy.

Stephen Keep had to wait until the last race for his other winner, Bushwaker, who led from the turn out of the back straight to win the Diet Coke fifth grade over 480m by five and three quarter lengths in 27.84.

The best time of the day over the 407-metre trip was recorded by Quiz Kid, trained by Jim Robinson.

Quiz Kid quickly accelerated along the back to lead easily for home, and although getting very wide in the straight, was to strong in the run to the line and scored by a length and a half in the Tyndale Tomatoes top grade in 23.17.
