MACLEAN Bowling Club is a veritable treasure trove for book worms today.
The Maclean Rotary Club is holding its tri-annual book fair, where a collection of more than 5000 are available.
Treasurer of Maclean Rotary Club, Dick Richards, said yesterday a lot of the books come from the Clarence Valley libraries and some were donated by the public.
This is the first time the Maclean Rotary Club has used the bowling club as the venue for the sale which is normally held over the weekend.
"It has been a boomer today ... people have been queued up to go in," Mr Richards said.
"Our previous sales have earned between $2000 and $3000, which is returned to the library and Rotary projects in the region."
Maclean Rotary Club's last sale contributed towards the building of the helicopter pad at the Maclean District Hospital.
