Sailing season over

THE Clarence River Yacht Club wound up a successful season of sailing with a race from Grafton to Brushgrove on May 21.

Eight yachts sailed in the race with close sailing in ideal autumn conditions. The racing was so close that after 23km of sailing, the first two yachts finished within seconds of each other at Brushgrove.

The yachts then tied up at Brushgrove and joined 40 members and friends for the AGM and dinner at the Brushy Pub.

After the dinner the CRYC payed tribute to the winners of various club perpetual trophies. Special thanks were made to the sponsors of various races for the season 2004-2005.

The new executives for the coming season were elected.

The yachties spent the night in moored yachts on the river to be woken on Sunday to a magnificent spectacle of fog on the water
