Sex charges for youth centre organiser



The proponent of a Grafton youth centre is in jail.

Nineteen-year-old South Grafton man Peter Van Lissum was refused bail in Bail Court hearings in Grafton on Monday after being charged with three counts of aggravated sexual assault.

It is alleged that an assault took place in Grafton on Sunday, between 11.45am and 3pm, in which Mr Van Lissum is alleged to have had sexual intercourse with the alleged victim without her consent.

He has also been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Mr Van Lissum entered no plea and will appear in Grafton Local Court on Monday.
