Showgirl comp ?a bit of fun

By Emma Cornford

A run of the mill weekend for latest Grafton Showgirl entrant, Emma McGuren, includes campdrafting and a bit of polocrosse.

And if she wins the showgirl title next Friday, she can add sashing winning bulls to her list.

The 18-year-old, from Eatonsville, decided to enter the competition for something different and 'a bit of fun'.

"I've been on the land all my life and my family has always been in the show and ... this is getting to see a different side of the show apart from all the rides," she said.

The former Junior Showgirl and Jacaranda Queen candidate also won a prize at last year's show with her sewing.

Ms McGuren will study veterinary nursing at Tamworth next year, but took this year off to work and study hospitality at Grafton TAFE.
