Skier vies for Showgirl crown

By ZOE SINCLAIR

BREE Jones has represented Australia in waterskiing, but now she is turning her attention to something completely different.

Ms Jones is the second entrant in this year's Grafton Showgirl competition, joining Katina Swan.

The Happy Hair apprentice hairdresser said entering a competition like Grafton Showgirl was a first for her, but as a Grafton Show regular, she is looking forward to the opportunity to contribute to Grafton.

"Shyness won't be a problem," Ms Jones said.

"It's just for the experience, have some fun and get to know some new people."

Ms Jones said she was hoping to get some pointers from last year's Grafton Showgirl winner, Diana Stuart, when Ms Stuart next comes in to Happy Hair.

Grafton Show Society secretary, Anne de Graaf, said any women aged between 18-24 (as of May 2006) could enter the competition.

Nominations close April 7.
