THE cream of Clarence Valley's chefs will combine their culinary skills for the Grafton Regional Art Gallery's popular 'Soup Day' in the courtyard this Sunday from noon until 2pm.

The annual event is run by the Friends of the Gallery (FOG) as a major fundraiser for the Jacaranda Acquisitive Drawing Award (JADA).

Represented will be Grafton eateries ? Georgies, Treetops, Courtyard Cafe, Victoria's, Zack's, South Services Club ? Yamba's Saltpan Cafe and Maclean's Coffee Art.

For just $15 a head, patrons will be able to sample soups ranging from classic European to more spicy Asian fare. There also will be a variety of breads from Bakers Delight. Book a seat or a table by phoning the Gallery on 66423177.

The Gallery will be open from 10am until 4pm as usual. While Georgies will be closed for the day, coffee and cakes will be available for an additional charge.

Geoff Crispin, of FOG, thanked Mark and Judy Hackett, of Georgies, for their co-operation with this event as well as all of the contributing restaurants.
