Target makes its mark

QUEUES were 10 deep within a quarter-of-an-hour as shoppers rushed to pick up the first bargains on offer at Yamba's new Target Country store.

Mayor Ian Tiley, councillor Doug McKenzie and Westlawn Property Trust general manager Jim Dougherty were called on for the official ribbon cutting duties as Yamba Fair welcomed its newest tenant.

The Target Country store will employ 30 staff including a significant number of school-based casuals.

Neville Norton, multi-site manager of the Target Country outlets in Lismore and Grafton, was more than impressed with the turnout and how his new staff were handling the initial purchasing rush. The general consensus among local shoppers was that a retail option of this kind was long overdue for Yamba.
