There?s nothing Sexyas a winning double ? trainer

REGULAR Grafton carnival visitor, Rosehill trainer Tony Karakatsanis, kicked off this year's assault with a winning double from as many starters.
"Two from two, that's great, not a bad opening to the innings," Karakatsanis said after Sexyas won the Westlawn Financial Planning Class 2 Hcp (1400m), to provide the stable with the second leg of the winning double.
Earlier Love And Theft, who won at last year's carnival, scored a game win in the Westlawn Wally Class 1 Hcp (1200m).
Both horses were ridden by Greg Farrer.
Karakatsanis brought nine horse to Grafton this year and both Sexyas and Love And Theft are likely to back up later in the carnival.
"I've been coming to Grafton for about ten years and I love the place," Karakatsanis said. "We've been lucky enough to have some luck up here and fortunately both horses found dry tracks today."
Love And Theft, a three-year-old by King Of Kings, is part-owned by Sydney property developer and long time client Drago Popovic.
"The horse goes good it's just been a shame I haven't been able to get him on a dry track," Karakatsanis said. "He'll back up next week in a Class Three handicap."
The stable will have several other good chances during the carnival including two-year-old Ten Of Hearts in the $22,000 Southern Cross Ten Plate (1200m) on Grafton Cup Day.
Love And Theft upset a big plunge on the Phil McLeod-trained His Excellency who led but wilted to finish third with outsider My Simplicity grabbing second.
Sexyas got up in the final bound to beat leader Skyroller, trained locally by Daniel Wheeler, with Thirtysixred, third.
Sexyas is a three-year-old filly by Golden Slipper winner Catbird and yesterday recorded its second win from seven starts.
Karakatsanis praised Greg Farrer's rides.
"That kid, everything I've said to him he's done," he said. "He rode both my horses perfect. Full marks."
Sexyas will back up in the $30,000 Tursa Employment & Training Grafton Guineas (1600m) on Wednesday with Farrer in the saddle.
