Three men arrested after home is raided

A SOUTH GRAFTON man was attacked and his house ransacked in a violent home invasion on Saturday night.

The 28-year-old was awakened by the disturbance at 11.30pm and called the Grafton police. He had heard aggressive voices and the sound of the home's front glass windows being smashed.

Three Grafton men, two aged 35, the other 38, broke in and ransacked furniture, doors and electrical goods causing $8000 worth of damage.

Police said the intruders assaulted the man by kicking, punching, elbowing and kneeing him.

Police arrested the men in the backyard of the Ryan Street home.

Detectives interviewed and charged the men at Grafton Police Station.

Bail was refused and the men will appear in Grafton Local Court today.

The injured man was taken to Grafton Base Hospital with minor injuries, including swelling, cuts and bruises.

The man is helping police with an investigation of the invasion and assault.
