Thriller in final fitting shield finale

GRAFTON High School is the leading rugby school in the Clarence Valley following its triumph over rivals South Grafton High in last night's Daily Examiner Shield open rugby league final at McKittrick Park.

In a thriller Grafton High hung on to win 18-16.

Earlier, in the Under-14s final Maclean High School defeated South Grafton 30-4.

Apology

YESTERDAY'S two-page Daily Examiner Shield rugby league finals feature was marred by a misplaced page folio that printed in the middle of the page.

This error occurred during pre-press page preparation at the editorial production unit in Lismore.

The Daily Examiner apologises for this error, which occurred after the page had been cleared by Grafton staff.
