Tigers set for big year

THE Grafton Tigers AFL Club are set for a big year in 2006 as the club celebrates its 25th anniversary.

After holding a very successful sign-on day, the number ofplayers has increased dramatically.

Training has been in full swing for a couple of weeks now and the coaching panel couldn't be happier, with theturnout thus far.

In the club's favour this year we are fielding a reservegrade side, so competition for first grade spot will be on in earnest, as thecoaches have made it clear to the seniors, perform or be relegated toreserves.

The club is still encouraging anyone who is interested in the game or lookingfor a change of code to turn up at training at the Grafton Pool on Tuesday nights at 5.30pm or Ellem Oval on Thursday nights at 6pm, or contact the secretary, Rod Gillett, on 66425772.

The club is also delighted to announce it has retained its major sponsor the Crown Hotel, which has been a much valued supporter of the Tigers for a number of years.

Also on the agenda are sign-on days for the Littlie's, Auskick, a cheap fun time, and anextremely good learning curve taking in motor and ball skills.

Any parent orjunior, interested in Auskick come and see us at Grafton ShoppingWorld onSaturday morning on March 4 and 11.
