Tourist Kerry travels in style

HE may be one of Australia's richest men, but Channel 7 owner Kerry Stokes enjoys playing tourist just as much as anyone.

And over the Easter long weekend, that travelling bug brought Mr Stokes and his multi-million dollar yacht, Antipodean, to Yamba and the NSW North Coast.

Mr Stokes visited Coffs Harbour, Yamba and Maclean over the weekend, before heading north to Ballina and the Gold Coast.

Marina owner Peter Sutton said Mr Stokes was impressed with the area.

"He had a good time and he loved Yamba," he said.

Mr Sutton said Mr Stokes joins a long line of high-profile people and yachts to have visited Yamba in recent times.

"People are getting bored with the Gold Coast and Coffs Harbour because you go in and there's no where to go," he said.

"But if you come to Yamba and the weather's bad, you can go up the river."
