Truck boss cops fine



A TRUCK boss whose lax safety management contributed to a driver's death was yesterday fined $42,000 by a NSW industrial court. Darri Haynes, 37, was killed when he crashed his semi-trailer into an- other truck on the Pacif- ic Highway at Tyndale in 1999.

Yesterday, IRC vice- president Michael Walton fined Mr Hitchcock $42,000. The maximum penalty is $110,000. "In determining penalty I have considered the objective seriousness of the offences," he said.
