Two motorists injured in smash

A THREE-VEHICLE smash at Swan Creek on the Pacific Highway north of Grafton yesterday injured two motorists.

A man received four stitches for a cut on his head and his girlfriend was treated for shock.

Senior Constable Rod Menzies said one lane of the highway was closed for three-quarters of an hour.

"A fire was started by a farmer. Smoke has blown across the road reducing visibility to nil, resulting in a car colliding into the one in front, resulting in a domino effect," said Const Menzies.

The farmer will receive an infringement notice for allowing the fire to escape his property.
