WERNER Brogli does not enter Lotto on a regular basis, but now he has the incentive.

Werner has won a year's supply of Lotto tickets in The Daily Examiner lotto promotion.

The 79-year-old Mr Brogli and his wife Edith said they still couldn't believe they won the prize, which is a system 10 entry for tonight and a 50-week Saturday multi-week entry.

"I have never had the chance to win anything in the past but now that I have these tickets I hope I can perhaps win something," Mr Brogli said.

Mr Brogli, a former engineer, said he enjoys to paint and has made some colourful additions to the outdoor walls of his house.

He and Mrs Brogli moved to Grafton from Switzerland in 1991 after their daughter married an Australian.

He said he had sent around 20 entries to the competition which was run in The Daily Examiner during December.

"Everytime I saw an entry I would cut it out and put it in the envelope with three others because I read the paper most ... days," he said.

"It would be an exaggeration to say I entered (Lotto) frequently but now I will enter a lot more."
