Woman trapped
A WOMAN was trapped in a car for over an hour after a two-vehicle collision on the Pacific Highway near Iluka on Friday night. A police officer said the accident happened at 7:20 pm when the driver of the vehicle the woman was travelling in, a four-wheel-drive, failed to give way while turning onto the highway. "He then came onto the highway and collided with the trailer of a Mack truck, which caused his vehicle to roll and come to rest just off the road," the officer said. "Two off-duty police from Nowra happened to be travelling by and they freed the driver and another younger passenger, but the lady was trapped in the vehicle." The woman was taken to hospital. She suffered a broken pelvis and cuts. The driver was treated for cuts and a broken nose.
