Women play pair of aces

By RODNEY STEVENS

TWO Grafton women were playing well under par on Saturday both scoring coveted holes in one.

In what has been described as the hardest possible pin placement on the 6th Green at Grafton Golf Club the women who played in consecutive groups both aced the par 3.

Remarkably there were 160 men that played the same hole with the same pin position and not one of them achieved a hole in one.

Glenda Chad a 22 handicapper who used a four iron on the 134 metre hole described the pin positioning as having no green on the right side of the hole.

"The girls joked that nobody could get a hole in one here ... but me," she said.

Gai Leeson a 27-handicapper used a 7 wood to achieve the golfers holy grail in the group following Chad's.

"It is the most wonderful feeling to have a hole in one," she said.
