Wonderful woodcraft

NORTHERN Rivers woodcrafters are exhibiting their finest creations at the annual woodworking show.

On display are numerous species of local timbers and burls, along with other items including a billiard cue rack, clocks, blanket chests and jewellery boxes.

The event was put on by the Northern Rivers Woodcraft Group, which has members extending from Grafton to the Queensland boarder and is held in conjunction with the Jacaranda Festival.

Artists demonstrate daily their skills in wood turning, carving and scroll saw work.

A woodworking competition was held and the best of show was awarded to Grafton's Rob Faulkner for his carving of 'a Carver's Fist'. The show is open to the public until November 5 and offers a comprehensive dis- play of items.
