Yamba woman wins $5000, but misses $1m

By ADRIAN MILLER

IT WAS a nervous wait for Yamba resident Pamela Scott Webber last Thursday as she prepared to reach for an envelope which had the potential to change her life.

Inside a barrel at Caltex Woolworths Parklea in Sydney were 250 envelopes all containing at least $5000, while one envelope held the magical figure of $1 million.

If Ms Webber was the lucky person to grab that envelope, she would have left Sydney an instant millionaire.

Ms Webber was at the petrol station after she won the 'Caltex/Nestli Win 1 Million Dollars' prize promotion. Now all she had to do to snare the top prize was choose correctly.

As her allotted time approached, Ms Webber could feel the tension rising and the nerves setting in.

And as she shuffled through the envelopes, the pressure to choose correctly was almost unbearable.

Unfortunately for Ms Webber, she didn't grab the top prize.

But she still walked away with a $5000 Christmas present.

"I'm thrilled to have won $5,000," she said.

"It was a bit of a long shot to win the million dollars, however, I'm still happy to take home a great prize."
