Yamba?s Oyster Cove enters final stages

By Adrian Miller

Work is about to restart on some of the last remaining land in the Oyster Cove development at Yamba.

A spokesman for developer Fourteenth Floor Agencies Pty Ltd, Bob Morrison, said the work would be on residential-A zoned land. It would yield 43 fully serviced residential lots.

Mr Morrison said the work would update environmental reports concerning the site.

He said in order for the development of the site to go ahead, negotiations had to take place with the NSW Fisheries and Environment Protection Authority to ensure fish-breeding habitats were increased along Oyster Channel.

Mr Morrison said the development of the site would make up the fourth and final area around Oyster Cove, and would be separate from the three stages of the Over-50s lifestyle resort.

The work, which was originally approved in 1994 and first begun in 1997, will involve clearing land and vegetation and dredge filling of land between Orion Drive and Yamba Road.

The work is planned to take between four and six months to complete.
