SCHOOLBOY rugby union star Cody Hearfield has added two impressive credits to his burgeoning representative portfolio.

The towering 191cm, 95kg Year 12 Grafton High School student has won selection in the Waratahs Under-17 squad and been picked to tour England and Ireland with the NSW CHS rugby team from September 16.

Hearfield, a powerful back-rower, is fast following in the footsteps of another Grafton-born rugby star, AJ Whalley, who recently signed with new the Super 14 Perth franchise, Western Force.

Earlier this year Hearfield was a key member of the NSW Country Development squad that made a successful tour of New Zealand.

In the first week of the recent school holidays, the strapping 17-year-old represented NSW Country Under-17 at an international, 52-team team tournament on the Gold Coast that included several sides from New Zealand, England, Ireland, South Africa, Japan and Scotland.
