Youths plan party

A YOUTH event is to be staged in the Clarence Valley every three months.

A decision to proceed with three monthly events follows a successful event in March.

That was put on by the Valley's Youth Centre Committee, and committee members Kristy Cowley and Nicole Secomb said the aim was to provide a variety of entertainment and activities for local youth.

The next event will be held on the Friday at the Grafton Regional Sports and Entertainment Centre from 6:30-10pm.

There will be a '70s theme, for ages 12-17 and entry will $8.

Two Pot Screamers will provide the entertainment and rollerskating will be available.

Sponsored by Community Drug Action Team, this event kicks off the next three months of planning.

Miss Secomb said the youth committee was excited about an announcement of funding through the Department of Transport and Regional Services for a youth friendly space in the Pullens building, in Prince Street, Grafton.
