Appeal for crash witnesses

POLICE are appealing for public assistance following a single-vehicle crash near Red Rock earlier this week.

About 5.30pm on Tuesday, a blue Mitsubishi Lancer sedan, carrying three 17-year-old males, was travelling north east on Red Rock Road, Corindi Beach.

The car left the roadway and hit a number of trees before landing on its roof.

Police from Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command and other emergency services attended the incident.

The provisional driver and rear passenger were trapped for about two hours before being released.

They were conveyed to Coffs Harbour Hospital along with the third passenger.

One of the passengers was released a short time later whilst the driver remained in hospital overnight for observation.

The other passenger was transferred to the spinal unit at Royal North Shore Hospital.
