Bank robber works way down coast
POLICE are responding to yet another armed robbery hold-up alarm at Nambucca Heads after the credit union at Urunga was held up this morning.
A hold-up alarm was activated at the Banana Coast Credit Union in Bowra St at the intersection of Ridge St at 12.40pm.
It came after the male offender entered the Urunga BCU branch just before 11am and demanded money from a teller.
Police have been told the man concealed his hand in his pocket, but no weapon was sighted.
It's believed he made be in possession of a large hunting knife, which was used during a similar armed robbery at the ANZ Bank in Coffs Harbour's Harbour Dr yesterday.
In Urunga, the man fled with an amount of cash stuffed into a fabric pencil case.
He was last seen running south along Bowra St.
The man is described as being Caucasian, about 180cm tall, approximately 25 years old, of a tall slim build, wearing dark clothing and a dark coloured brimmed hat.
Police have alerted the BCU branches in Macksville and Kempsey as its believed he may be working his way down the coast.
