Artists to show off handicrafts at Ferry Park
KAREN Scott and Pamela Morgan share Ferry Park Gallery Artists of the month for February.
Ms Scott creates beautiful cross-stitch designs and inspiration for her work mostly comes from the local flora and fauna.
She loves creating birds of any kind because they seem to come to life when her work is framed, and take on their own character.
Ms Scott will either buy the cross-stitches in kit form or buy all the requirements and start from scratch.
She works most days so when she has a free moment she will pick up her work and start stitching.
It generally takes her about three months to complete a cross-stitch but a couple of works have been more complicated, so they have taken her longer.
She has won prizes for her work at the Lower Clarence Art and Craft Association's Arts, Crafts and Quilt Exhibition.
Ms Morgan is a relatively new member with LCACA.
She says she is a self-taught card maker, having been making them for about five years.
Each is an individual design. Ms Morgan has been knitting for many years, creating baby items for friends and family and for a shop in Sawtell, where she lived for 30 years.
She moved to the Lower Clarence four years ago and has been displaying craft at Ferry Park for two years.
All the items on display are for sale.
