Aussie enemy No.1 Broad fair game for crowds

CRICKET: Doug Bollinger has told Stuart Broad to expect some stick from the crowd when the English bowler makes his debut for the Hobart Hurricanes against the Sydney Sixers at the SCG tonight (6.30pm AEST).

Broad is still remembered by Aussie fans for his refusal to walk after edging Ashton Agar to slip in the 2013 Ashes series in England.

Bollinger said while he liked his fellow paceman, Broad was fair game.

"Absolutely,” Bollinger said when asked if Broad would get flak from the crowd. "If you're a bowler down on the boundary then you're going to get it.”

Broad struggled with a foot injury towards the end of England's 4-0 Test series loss in India, but has been the scourge of Australian batsmen in the past few years.

The 30-year-old has represented his country 56 times in T20 internationals, claiming 65 wickets at 22.93.

He has also played in 102 Tests and took 8-15 to help rout Australia for 60 at Trent Bridge last year.

Bollinger said he was a welcome addition to the Big Bash League.

"I think it's great to have a guy like Stuart Broad in the BBL. He's a wonderful guy,” Bollinger said.

"It's great to have him over and I hope he goes well.”

The Sixers, last year's wooden spooners, have made one change to their squad following their first-up win over the Sydney Thunder, with Harry Conway coming in for Henry Thornton.

The Hurricanes could give debuts to D'Arcy Short and Beau Webster as well as Broad, while Hamish Kingston could also start for Hobart after being traded from the Adelaide Strikers.
