Bangers and Saps play out tough draw in Supa Oldie Soccer

SUPA OLDIES SOCCER: All the action from the Supa Oldies Soccer competition from last Thursday, February 4.

The Boral Bangers and The Saps played an even game with end to end action and three goals each in the first half. The second half was much the same with lots of running however teams were unlucky to not find the back of the net. The game ended in a four-all draw with M Oxenbridge, T Snola and N Cotten picked as best players.

Winmill Campers and the Wowies played a very friendly game with a new favourite skill move "the air swing" being demonstrated often. Final score was four-all draw with N Tait and N Rayward getting the match honours.

The Hackers and Tyre Power Pros played a relaxed game in which everyone got to kick the ball and had fun chasing each other. Karina Broomwol, S Doyle and K Wanna were deemed the best players of this match with the final score being 4-2 to Tyre Power Pros.

The Blue Jays lost to Kaos in a game that the referee found very amusing - citing both teams with limited knowledge of the game. Score was 4-1; best players were T Winters and J Grieve.

Wisdom and the Roadrunners played an evenly matched and entertaining game with the highlights being the performance of the three keepers in this game. Excellent play and some even better saves kept the scoreline close with Wisdom winning 3-2. M Woods, J Nelson and J Adamson got the match honours.

Cartridge World lost to South Services, the score was 3-1, T Duroux, B Hall and K Skinner picked as best players in this game.

Kezas lost to the Oddballs 5-2 with Kendal getting a hat-trick and Ryan Atkins and Seanine Cooper sharing the player of the match honours.

Poles and Holes played the Hackers in a great game played in a good spirit, the Hackers won 3-1. Match honours went to A Morgan, T Radin and A Daffey.

Next month on March 5 and 6 Supa Oldies Soccer will be hosting the the Grafton Cup Carnival and all teams are invited to participate, the costs are $150 for Grafton SOS teams and $200 for non Grafton teams with nominations to close on February 22.

There is going to be an over 30 and and over 45 comp where males must be over that age and females over the age of 18. Barbecue dinner will be supplied on Saturday evening with round robin games on Saturday and finals on Sunday. Post entries to Grafton Supa Oldie Soccer, PO Box 468 Grafton 2460.
