Batters set for clash

UNITED and Iluka will be keen to gain the upper hand at Barry Watts Oval, Maclean.

With both teams assured of a minor semi-final spot, today’s match is a chance to head into next week’s elimination game full of confidence.

In the past, there has been little between the two sides but with the Johnson brothers, Liam and Ryan, leading the way with the ball for United, the Iluka batsmen will need to be on their game.

“Both Ryan and Liam are always difficult to handle but if we can bat like we did last week we should be okay,” Iluka captain Peter Duncombe said.

According to Duncombe, his side will be without the services of key players, Ben Farrell and

Callum Leonard.

Iluka is still on a high after a surprise victory against premiership heavy weights Yamba last round.
