Bec is keen to win showgirl title

PROUDLY following in the footsteps of older sisters, Kimberley and Jessica, Yamba’s Rebecca James is preparing to compete for the title of Maclean Showgirl later this month.

Bec said the Maclean Agricultural Show has been a yearly highlight for her family since she moved to Yamba 14 years ago.

Since a young age she had been keen to join the showgirl quest.

Bec left school last year to begin a career in real estate with PRD Yamba.

Her role is as a receptionist and holiday consultant, but she is aiming high and one day plans to manage her own real estate agency.

“I love my job,” she said.

“It’s busy, fast paced and sometimes challenging but I love introducing people to the Clarence Valley.

“It is a beautiful part of the world.”

Having the love and support of friends, family and her employer is important to the bubbly 17-year-old.

“The girls at PRD have been really supportive and I couldn’t do without my friends,” she said.

If you or someone you know would like to enter the quest for Maclean Showgirl, time is running out fast. Call Nancy Brown during business hours on 6645 3246 or after hours on 6645 1465.

Applications must be received by tomorrow.
