CELEBRITIES are starting to arrive on the red carpet ahead of today's Oscars ceremony, as suspense runs high over what the show will look like in the wake of the #MeToo and Time's Up movements.

Expect plenty of colourful formal attire on the red carpet, with pins to support causes like Time's Up and gun control - this time there's no co-ordinated effort to wear all black as stars did at the Golden Globes.

First to perhaps the most controversial dress of the night, Aussie Nicole Kidman's bold, blue bowed frock. We LOVE it (Nicole Kidman can do no wrong, tbh).

Actress Blanca Blanco, who wore easily the most revealing dress at the Golden Globes earlier this year and suffered a wardrobe malfunction at last year's Oscars, again flashed the flesh with this plunging neckline:

Hollywood legend Rita Moreno, 86, wore a dress that may be familiar to Oscars-watchers with very long memories...

That's because it's the same dress she wore to the ceremony way back in 1962:

Salma Hayek appeared to channel those dolls your grandma used to put over the top of the toilet roll:

We're sensing a theme here - it's Handmaid's Tale star Elisabeth Moss, in yet more sparkle-hued neutral tones:
