IT SOUNDS like a cliche, but Easterfest event director Dave Schenk reckons Easterfest 2015 was one of the best.

"It sounds cliche to say that it's been the best year but last night rates one of the best shows in the main festival stage," he said yesterday.

US band Switchfoot played in 2011 and returned to the stage in Toowoomba this weekend.

"It was an incredibly intense reunion," Mr Schenk said.

Toowoomba Regional Council councillor Geoff McDonald said there was no denying the good vibe the festival brought to the city.

"It's the 17th year this year and each year it's amazing the different people who come here," he said.

"I spoke to someone from Tamworth who was here for her fifth year.

"And there was also a group of 20 people who were from Sydney here for their first festival."

He said as well as Easterfest, he headed out to the Margaret St Markets, Easter Jazz, the Highfields Pioneer Village and the Jondaryan Woolshed.

"There's been a lot of happy smiling people around," he said.

"Albeit the wet weather has kept some people away."
