Big award comes with Little effort

BALANCE, trust and community involvement are the keys to success for businessman Bob Little.

Bob and his wife Judith own the Maclean SPAR Supermarket, and have been recognised with a regional award for Excellence in Business Ethics.

They will now represent the region at the NSW Business Chamber State Awards in Sydney later this month.

"It's about balance, trust in our customers and giving back and being involved with the community," Mrs Little said.

"Just to get down to State is wonderful.

"There's some really inspiring people ... you come back with new ideas."

Mrs Little said her husband was proud to receive the award.

"It's just an indication that what you're doing is valued," she said.

"Our customers aren't fools; our community know we are here to make a living and raise a family, and that we are also here to make a contribution back to the community."

Mrs Little said her husband had very firm ideas on business principles and it was nice for his efforts to be recognised.

"I was absolutely ecstatic," Mr Little said.

Mr Little credited his community-driven approach to business as his secret to success.
