Big crowd expected for finals

GRAFTON Hockey is hoping to cap another successful season with a feast of hockey at Brett Livermore Field tomorrow.

From the first whistle of the C-Grade women's grand final at 9am, right up until the final buzzer of the A-Grade men's game between Barbs Hagars and City Bears, the day will feature non-stop hockey action.

While Grafton Hockey chief executive Bruce Carle is happy to let the crowd party on through the day, he did remind spectators not to take their celebrations too far.

"It will only take 1500 or 2,000 people for the place to be packed, and hopefully it will be a big fun day of hockey for the last day of the season,'' Carle said.

"Security will be in place to make it a safe and fun day for all, and I hope the under-age spectators are smart enough to do the right thing.''

Two lucky raffle winners, Sue Bondfield and Chris Blanchard, and 10 mates, will be lucky enough to watch the finals action from the luxury of the new veranda.

"Good luck to all teams, and we hope to see all the games played with great spirit,'' Carle said.
