Title defence preparations under way for Yamba FC

FOOTBALL: The seniors at Yamba football club are back in training and there's a fresh new look to the winners of last year's second division.

Several young faces have returned to the fold eager for a more prominent role on the field.

As with most clubs in the Clarence Valley, Yamba Football Club has to deal with the flux and change caused by young people leaving the area.

Yamba seems to have countered this in recent years and it will be interesting to see if the club can again field the strongest team in the division.

The new challenge facing the club this year, as they set their sites on growing and improving, is to find a leader off the field.

The club has big goals for the future but in order to realise these an off-field mentor is essential.

The club has declared a request for a leader with a passion for football, who would like to get involved in this exciting prospect, to contact the club via yamba.fc@gmail.com.
