UPDATED, Sunday 10am:

Gold Coast University hospital has confirmed a three-year-old girl airlifted into the facility for treatment on Saturday afternoon after being found unconscious in at Brunswick Creek remains in hospital in a stable condition.

 

INITIAL REPORT, Saturday 4.30pm:

A THREE-year-old girl has been flown to Gold Coast University Hospital after being found face down in a creek at Brunswick Heads on Saturday afternoon.

Family and local road ambulance crews performed CPR on the toddler after she was pulled from the water at Brunswick Creek until she regained consciousness.

A witness to the event stated on Facebook that she "watched as a (three-year-old) girl was brought back to life after being found floating face down".

"The woman who saw her go under and pulled her out said it was (four) minutes, then at least another (four) of CPR before she finally breathed."

After the child was resuscitated, she and her mother were transported by the Westpac Life Saver Helicopter to hospital for further treatment and observation.
